What if politics was about people?
Politics is supposed to be about making society better for the people who live in it.
But somewhere along the way, politics became tangled up with power, elections, personal ambition, party loyalty, money and the interests of those with the loudest voices.
So we thought we’d try something different.
The AI Politician is an experiment.
We’re going to ask an AI to consider the problems facing society without needing to win an election, protect a political career or satisfy a particular political party.
Its job is simple:
To examine the evidence, consider different perspectives, and work towards decisions that make life better for as many people as possible.
That doesn’t mean it will always be right.
It doesn’t mean there won’t be difficult choices or disagreements.
And it certainly doesn’t mean that AI is somehow free from bias.
In fact, those are some of the questions we’re here to explore.
What would happen if we approached politics with less ego, less tribalism and a much longer view?
Could AI help us imagine a more peaceful, fair and equal society?
We don’t know.
But we think it’s worth asking the question.
